Claudia Acosta is a native of Medellin, Colombia and grew up in Weehawken, New Jersey. She is a Black belt in Tae-Kwon Do, where her love of massage started. This love blossomed after having her children, especially her youngest who was diagnosed with Asperger Syndrome as a boy of seven. As a baby the only way to calm him down was with the power of touch. Massaging his back and forearms would soothe him to sleep. Once her son graduated high school she decided to go back to school and finally make a lifetime dream come true. After several struggles, Claudia graduated from CORTIVA Massage Institute, of St. Petersburg, Florida and was able to begin her life’s work of healing others. She is certified and highly trained in neuromuscular therapy, myofascial release, Swedish massage, prenatal care, sports massage, hot stones, trigger-point therapy, MET (Muscle Energy Techniques), and PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation). One of her dreams is be able to work with Autistic families and teach the parents the power of touch to help their children relax more. Since the healing touch has made a difference in her son’s life, she wants to pay it forward to her community by doing the same. Claudia hopes to continue her education with a concentration in Reflexology and Alternative Medicine
