CBD Massage is a great way to relax the muscles and increase the release of knots and strains. It is, by far, our most popular enhancement. Divine Connections Massage & Spa is one of the only massage spas in the Tampa Bay area offering CBD Massage!
What is a Cannabis Massage & how does it work?
Cannabis Massage is still a typical massage, just using oils/salves/creams/gels/balms/lotions that have been infused with flowers from the Cannabis plant, or in our case Hemp Cannabis. Think of the infusion the same as infusing lavender flowers into oil, or strawberries into water- the oil in the plant is infused into the carrier oil.
How do I know if a Cannabis massage is right for me?
Cannabis massage is right for everyone! Since the topical does not enter the bloodstream, people that do not normally use cannabis may still enjoy the various benefits. That being said, Cannabis Massage is particularly helpful for people that suffer from chronic pain and inflammation, such as Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Arthritis, migraines, recovering skin cancer survivors, and many more!
Will using CBD oil in my massage make me high?
Cannabidiol has no toxicity for humans—simply meaning, it doesn’t make you high. When you take a traditional drug test, the aim is to detect THC in your body, not CBD. Marijuana without THC is called hemp. The rules governing hemp are quite different. At Divine Connections, we use 100% Hemp Cannabis which contains less than .01% THC. Massage topicals are not absorbed into the blood so there is no "high" associated with use. FYI: any topical product labeled as "transdermal" WILL enter the bloodstream. Divine Connections Massage & Spa does not use any topical with this type of absorption.
What exactly is cannabidiol (CBD)?
There are 400 components of the cannabis plant that are commonly found in other species of plants. Of those 400 compounds, more than 60 of them are specific to the plant type Cannabis. Scientists call these special compounds “cannabinoids.”
What does CBD do?
The endocannabinoid system is a network of neurons that run throughout the entire body, It’s loaded with receptors that bind to the cannabinoids you introduce to your bloodstream when you introduce marijuana. The endocannabinoid system is also responsible for regulating balance in our body’s immune response, communication between cells, appetite and metabolism, memory, and more. In spite of the integral role this system takes on, until recently it remained an unknown part of the human body’s functions. The endocannabinoid system touches all of the major systems of the body.
The topical application of cannabinoids allows them to be absorbed directly into the affected area for faster and more focused relief. When it binds to the endocannabinoid system receptors, it stimulates all kinds of changes in the body. Most of those changes are incredibly beneficial, and researchers keep uncovering real and potential medical uses for them.
Can I drive legally and safely after a Cannabis massage?
Yes, if you can drive after a regular massage, you can drive after having a Cannabis massage. The topical application will not impair your brain.
How to I explain this to my boss/friends/family?
Most of our clients are trying Cannabis topicals for the first time. We know that Cannabis still has some negativity associated to all forms of the plant, and not everyone is open to the experience. It's up to our clients to share their experience with friends and family as they feel comfortable, and we hope the benefits we have found and described on this page are helpful in alleviating any concerns.
Is this legal?
Yes - Cannabis topical use is legal in Florida! We do need to abide by the State, County & City specific laws. Our business IS NOT A DISPENSARY. Each of our topicals are single use only.
I'm pregnant - are Cannabis Topicals safe for my baby?
Currently, the research on Cannabis use (in all forms) during pregnancy is on-going. To-date, there are no direct correlations to fetal developmental problems using Cannabis. Cannabis Topicals during pregnancy is limited to non-existent. We have included links to several promising studies so you may educate yourself with current research.
Our pregnant clients have not reported any negative side-effects post-massage. In fact, they have reported feeling an extra sense of relaxation, and a high degree of joint and muscle pain-relief associated to the changes the body experiences during pregnancy!
If you are uncertain - make an appointment with your doctor to ask questions about Cannabis Topicals and your baby prior to booking a Cannabis service.
There is less than .01% THC in our topicals. Divine Connections Massage & Spa will provide the CBD Topical for all CBD Infused services.
