Patient Testimony

"I had both of my hips replaced this past year and was having pain and muscle issues with the right hip...I started thinking I will never walk right again, and I would have to live with muscle spasms. I've started regularly booking Medical Massages at Divine Connections and since then I've been walking much better. I now feel like I am finally on the road to a full recovery."

What makes medical massage different?

Unlike traditional massage, which focuses on relaxation and stress relief, Medical Massage focuses on corrective work to reduce chronic pain,  treat specific conditions, limited mobility, injuries, or pre-diagnosis. By using advanced techniques and evidence-based practices, it seeks to target the root cause of pain.

Natural Pain Management & Recovery—Top Conditions We See

TMJ & Jaw Pain

TMJ pain can come in many forms. Whether it's a mouth guard at night for teeth grinding,  migraines from hypertension in the jaw, or chemotherapy/ radiation near the neck that has caused an intense locked jaw, these are just a few examples of  patients who come to us for treatment.

Musculoskeletal Disorders

Musculoskeletal disorder is just a fancy way to describe the type of common chronic pain found in the soft tissue. You may recognize some of these as any kind of tendinitis, fasciitis, Fibromyalgia and arthritis. We work closely with patients suffering from these conditions to experience pain relief and better mobility.

Surgery Recovery

Lower Back & Sciatica Pain

Our post-op patients have seen us after all kinds of surgeries including plastic surgery, lump/mastectomy, and knee or shoulder or hip surgery to name a few. After any kind of operation, the body's natural reaction is to create a build-up in the lymphatic system that can cause serious problems in the healing journey. So we also offer post-op lymph drainage massage for faster recovery.

Lower Back & Sciatica Pain

Lower Back & Sciatica Pain

Lower Back & Sciatica Pain

Sometimes invasive back surgery is the last option for patients who wish to first try a more holistic route. Our medical massage modalities manipulate the soft tissue of these musculoskeletal issues that can help not only alleviate but can entirely heal back pain.

Car Accident Recovery

Lower Back & Sciatica Pain

Car Accident Recovery

Many who suffer from car accident injuries have a team of specialized practitioners to help them make a full recovery. We believe medical massage therapy should be one of them. We are grateful to have seen many patients make a complete recovery, overcoming chronic pain and post-traumatic stress that comes with these kinds of accidents.

Sports Injury

We've seen a number of patients between NFL athletes, professional golfers, professional long-distance runners, swimmers and the like. We understand sports injury and chronic conditions that arise from intense dedication to your practice.

Patient Testimony

"I was in a car accident 4 months ago. I've been seeing a chiropractor, a bone specialist and a general practitioner. My recovery had stalled. Once I started going to Divine Connections, my recovery started to skyrocket! I now have hope for a full recovery!"

Frequently Asked Questions

There are a few key differences between the two types of massages. What makes medical massage unique is it’s focus on corrective work. Medical massage involves a comprehensive assessment and personalized treatment plan to address the root cause of a patient’s specific health condition, injury, mobility issue or chronic pain. Medical Massage is performed by a highly trained licensed therapist with either a medical certification or is highly trained in advanced, specialized medical modalities. On the other hand, our standard massages focus more on stress reduction, tension relief, and relaxation rather than correcting an issue.

We do not accept insurance at this time. However, we can provide detailed invoice receipts for you to file with your insurance provider for reimbursement. We also accept CareCredit and HSA/FSA as financial options to make treatment more accessible to all.

There are a few factors depending on the type of surgery and type of medical massage you are looking for. Those who need lymphatic drainage shortly after surgery due to fluid build up will have a shorter window of time, but regardless we will need a doctor's note of approval. Otherwise, for most other surgeries, we require 12 weeks passed the surgery date. Otherwise, we will ask for doctor's note on file.

Yes! The best results for breaking up scar tissue will be within 1 year from the time of injury or surgery. However, scar tissue massage can still acheive achieve significant results for scars much older than that.

Absolutely. What makes Medical massage so unique is we partner with you as well as your other healthcare providers to come up with. agame plan that works with the greater picture of your wellness plan. Our Medical Treatment Plan has two phases, the corrective phase and the maintenance phase. In the corrective phase the Patient visits in shorter, more frequent intervals to tackle the root cause of chronic pain and conditions. Once the corrective results are achieved the patient moves into the Maintenance phase in longer, less frequent intervals that depends on the rate of regression and the acuteness of their condition. Learn more about signing up for the Medical Treatment Plan for discounted rates below.

Transformative healing with the Medical Treatment Plan

Our Medical Treatment Plan is a simple subscription plan we consider the "health insurance" of holistic care. Each patient receives a personalized Corrective Treatment Plan with a qualified dedicated licensed practitioner.

How does the Treatment Plan work?

Step 1: Intensive Phase

Step 2: Maintenance Phase

Step 2: Maintenance Phase

The intensive phase involves shorter intervals in scheduling to make progress toward corrective results adequately. A qualified, licensed therapist works with the patient to determine the frequency depedning on the severity of the issue.

Step 2: Maintenance Phase

Step 2: Maintenance Phase

Step 2: Maintenance Phase

Patients move to the maintenance phase when they have reached corrective results. The intervals are further spaced out and will vary from patient to patient depending on the severity of the issue and its rate of regression.

Don't take our word for it —take theirs!

Over the past year, my sessions at Divine Connection have transformed my health and wellness in ways I never thought possible. Chronic back pain is a thing of the past. Their holistic approach to massage therapy has helped me understand the importance of self-care.

- Anna

In my adult life span, which is about 37 years, I've moved often and visited many massage therapists. In light of this, I think I can speak with some expertise about the massage [therapists] at Divine Connections. [My therapist] not only helped my scar tissue but she brings a lot of holistic knowledge and insight to the session.

- Amanda

I have had neck and back issues for years so I’ve been to numerous places for massages but this place is the best. I’ve never had a therapist that is so knowledgeable about the body. If you are in pain or have a specific issue this is who you need to see!!!

 - Michelle

I tweaked my shoulder blade and was in so much pain. [My therapist] was truly amazing and helped me so much!  I will be a regular from now on!

- Kindra

I love Divine Connections, With just three short visits I am able to stand straight up now with a lot less pain.

- Bob

As an experienced receiver of massages for more than 25 years, I have to put Mercy at the top of all massage therapists I’ve had. Not only is she intuitive to your body, she knows the musculoskeletal and connective tissues like no one I’ve known.
